-
Product Overview
Data Visualization Design Project
-
Mortgage 220 operates as B2E mortgage lending platform, offering a website equipped with specialized dashboards for operations managers and chief operating officers. The primary objective of the company is to ensure the seamless and timely processing of loans within their pipeline. In order to achieve this, the company relies on user-friendly and intuitive data visualization tools that provide a clear overview of the company's progress towards its objectives.
-
Challenge
Develop a comprehensive dashboard catering to the requirements of both operations managers and chief operating officers within a mortgage lending organization. Emphasize data visualization elements that facilitate prompt comprehension of loan closure timelines, individual employee workloads, and long-term performance metrics of the company.
-
Main Tasks
1.Develop dynamic visualizations, encompassing interactive charts and tables, which effectively showcase pivotal data points and facilitate informed decision-making.
2. Incorporate seamless micro-interactions that intelligently arrange information on the screen, enhancing its readability and organization.
3. Place emphasis on essential metrics driving decision-making processes, ensuring their prominence and significance within the visualizations.

My Design Process
Map out crucial elements for Operations Manager and Chief Operating Officers.
Define the purpose, decision elements, and strategy.
Preliminary sketches and low-fidelity prototypes.
Define the key data visualization elements to turn into tables and charts.
How to move forward with the deisgn.
High-fidelity and interactive prototypes.
Brainstorm and Conceptual Model
By employing a comprehensive object/action matrix, prioritization matrix, and object-and analytical attribute tables, the design process was informed by user-centric needs, enabling a well-informed and effective outcome. Each matrix was created for both the operations manager's screens and the chief operating officer's screens.

Wireframes
Leveraging the capabilities of Axure, the low-fidelity wireframes were transformed into a refined high-fidelity prototype. Notably, the inclusion of specific charts effectively conveyed the essential information required by lenders to facilitate informed decision-making. Subsequently, following an interim design review, additional relevant information was integrated into the prototype, specifically the chart designs.
Following the valuable feedback received during the review process, the final design was meticulously crafted utilizing Axure. The focal points of my efforts encompassed the integration of interactive charts, simulation capabilities, load-balancing functionalities, and customizable information options. Furthermore, the design was subject to specific requirements, emphasizing the importance of functional effectiveness, adherence to consistent object-action grammar, the inclusion of interactive and pertinent charts, as well as the ability to customize workload allocation.

In the event of further engagement in this project, the subsequent steps would have encompassed the integration of a wider array of visual chart types, enabling users to transition between different formats that best align with their preferred methods of interpreting information.
Next steps
01
To enhance information accessibility for employees without introducing additional screens or navigation complexity, the charts would have been equipped with dynamic switching capabilities, enabling the display of supplementary data.
02
Furthermore, the implementation of advanced simulation capabilities would have been included to empower company leaders to gain insights into current statistics, trends, and predicted future trends, fostering informed decision-making within the organization.
Learnings
Throughout the course of this project, I acquired two key proficiencies. Firstly, I developed the ability to assimilate unfamiliar subject matter, such as mortgage lending, and discern the essential concepts that facilitate efficient task execution. Secondly, I honed my expertise in crafting customizable charts that effectively present vital information in a visually intuitive format.
